Flicker
Flicker is visible fading between cycles displayed on video displays, especially the refresh interval on cathode ray tube (CRT) based computer screens. Flicker occurs on CRTs when the they are driven at a low refresh rate, allowing the screen’s phosphors to lose their excitation (afterglow) between sweeps of the electron gun. In Flat Screen Television with progressive scan technology eliminates flicker significantly.
TFT LCD
TFT LCD or a Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display is a variant of liquid crystal display (LCD) which uses thin film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality (e.g. addressability and contrast). TFT LCD is one type of active matrix LCD. TFT LCDs are used in television sets, computer monitors, mobile phones and computers, video game systems, PDA (Personal Digital Assistants) and navigation systems.
Brightness

Contrast

Contrast Ratio
The contrast ratio is a measure of a display system, defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest color (white) to that of the darkest color (black) that the say it some Flat Screen Television system is capable of producing. A high contrast ratio is a desired aspect of any display. In the simple word, a higher contrast ratio means better picture quality.
